Rian
Liam Ó Maonlaí is a traditional Irish
musician. The songs, sung in Gaelic, are all
from Connemara (western Ireland). There is
something eery, spiritual, and deeply
affecting about these songs. At times they
take on an almost Middle Eastern feel,
especially on the second track (the Lord's
prayer in Irish). The songs that are not sung
are Irish whistle tunes, which he also chooses
to play alone. |
