Dear Prospective Student,
This year we have seen a much larger number of last minute cancellations.  We try to have a reasonable refund policy in place to accomodate students. However, there are many expenses that are beyond our control and costs that we must incur when a student suddenly cancels their registration close to the class date.

These costs include (but are not limited to):

• rental space for the class (all of our classes are held in privately rented spaces).
• contractual agreements with our instructors which can nnot be changed less than 2 weeks before class and are dependant on class size.
• supplies and materials for the student.

We determine if we will  hold the class based on a  minimum enrollment number. We have turned away students becuase we believed the class was full.   For this reason we have posted on each class the refund policy.

Example:
Our policy for short one day classes is stated on each class description as:

The registration fee will include a non-refundable $35.00 fee per student that can not be applied to any other class. No refunds will be made for missed classes or cancellations that are made less than two weeks before the class begins. We will not make refunds or offer make-up sessions for classes missed by the student.

If you cancel two or more weeks before class, we will refund each students class, fee minus the non-refundable portion.

If you registered 4 people and wish to cancel all four students for a class, we will refund the tuition minus four times the non-refundable fee.

You will not recieve "credit" for the non-refundable portion of the tuition.

If you fail to cancel within two weeks of the class, you forfeited your class fee. It is that simple.

While we are aware that extenuating circumstances do come up, we can not be responsible to assume the costs of a late cancellation, no matter what the situation is.

If you are not sure of your ability to attend a class, perhaps it may be better to wait to enroll closer to the actual date of the class - when you are sure you can attend.

Most of our classes run multiple times during the year and we usually have space up to a week before the class date.
